Four more children died with measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours, while 1,018 children were infected with measles or showed measles-like symptoms during the same period.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the information in its regular measles update report issued on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the report, four more children died with measles symptoms in the past 24 hours. However, no child died from laboratory-confirmed measles during the period.
Since March 15, a total of 823 children have died with measles symptoms across the country. During the same period, another 99 children died from confirmed measles cases, bringing the total number of deaths from measles and measles-like symptoms to 922.
In addition, 87 children were diagnosed with measles in the past 24 hours, while 931 developed measles-like symptoms. During the same period, 787 children were newly admitted to hospitals and 925 were discharged after receiving treatment.
According to DGHS data, the total number of suspected measles cases has reached 145,711 since March 15, while 18,076 cases have been confirmed as measles.
During this period, a total of 127,076 patients were admitted to hospitals, of whom 122,805 have been discharged after receiving treatment.
