Bangladesh has placed an order with Boeing for 25 aircraft, Commerce Secretary Mahbubur Rahman told reporters at the Ministry of Commerce on Sunday (27 July).
Mahbubur Rahman stressed that the purchase is a commercial agreement with Boeing, not the US government.
He noted that other countries in the region have recently made larger commitments—India, Vietnam, and Indonesia have each ordered about 100 aircraft—and that deliveries will depend on Boeing’s production capacity, which could extend the timeline for receiving the planes.
No additional details on aircraft models, delivery schedules, or financing terms were disclosed.
