The fire of the surrounding buildings including Bangabazar and Anexco Towers in the capital is not completely extinguished, although the fire is under control. The fire service could not specify when the fire will be completely extinguished.
On Wednesday, the director of fire service Lt. Colonel Md. Rezaul Karim said, it will take some more time to completely extinguish this fire.
The fire that broke out at 6:10 am yesterday was brought under control in the afternoon. But even after a day smoke was rising today in the Anexco tower and warehouse near Bangabazar. Flames can be seen coming out from under the rubble with continuous smoke. The fire service tried to extinguish the fire throughout the night. But they were not successful due to trash and wind.
Volunteers are assisting the fire service. And, traders are busy moving the surviving goods.
Lt. Colonel Md. Rezaul Karim said, "We are taking some time to go there as the fire is still burning in some places inside the Anexco Tower. We have to find those places to put out the fire. It may take some more time of the day.''
More than 4,000 shops have been burnt to ashes so far.
