In order to reduce border casualties of Bangladeshi nationals to zero, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) have decided to increase cooperative patrolling, vigilance, public awareness campaigns, stop criminals and residents from crossing borders, and exchange information.
It was revealed in a joint statement that was read aloud during a joint news conference held at the BGB Pilkhaka headquarters after the five-day director general-level conference, which concluded on Saturday.
When questioned about the latest BGB soldier`s death in a BSF firing, Indian BSF DG Nitin Agrawal did not directly respond.
"I wouldn`t explain how he ended up dead," he remarked.
Reports about it have already been made, he added.
He said, "BGB DG can respond."
BGB DG Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui responded, saying, "First of all, this wasn`t a targeted killing. It seemed to be the result of uncertainty on both sides and occurred in the shadows. Both sides agree that every effort will be made to prevent any kind of killings in uniform, whether they include BSF, BGB, or civilian Indian or Bangladeshi nationals."
Nonetheless, the joint statement stated that the BSF DG sent his deepest sympathies for Sepoy Roisuddin`s tragic passing.
