Police have recovered the bodies of a husband, his wife, and their two children from a house in Rajshahi’s Paba.
A note was also found near the bodies.
The bodies were recovered from Kharkhari’s Baman Shekhor area around 9am, said Assistant Sub-Inspector Kalam Parves of Matihar Police Station.
The dead were identified as Minarul Islam, 30, his wife Munira Begum,28, their son Mahim, 13, and daughter Mithila, 1.
Locals say Mahim was in eighth grade at Kharkhari High School. Minarul was a farmer.
Police say Minarul’s body was found hanging from a fan. His son’s body was found in a bed next to him, while the bodies of his wife and daughter were on a bed in another room.
Gaziur Rahman, additional deputy commissioner (media) of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police, said that a note was found in the room where Minarul’s body was hanging.
“The note said it was death by suicide because of loans. But, we have not yet been able to confirm who wrote it.”
