Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury, the founder of Ganashasthaya Kendra and a freedom fighter, was put on life support on Monday morning at Gonoshasthaya Nagar Hospital.
According to a news release from Ganashasthaya Kendra's press adviser Jahangir Alam Mintu, he was placed on life support when his health began to deteriorate.
On Sunday, a medical board was established under the direction of Professor Brigadier General (Retd) Dr Mamun Mustafi because his physical condition could not get any better.
On Monday at 10:30am, Zafrullah Chowdhury's health started to deteriorate. He was afterwards placed on life support at the hospital's ICU, according to Professor Brigadier General (Retd) Dr Mamun Mustafi.
Long-term kidney-related issues have plagued Dr Zafrullah.
