Director Raihan Rafi is set to make a horror film titled Andhar, with actor Siam Ahmed in the lead. It has now been learned that Nazifa Tushi will star opposite him.
Tushi was last seen on the big screen three years ago in Hawa, which marked her return to cinema after a six-year hiatus.
Since then, she has remained largely out of the spotlight, with no appearances in films or on OTT platforms. Reports suggest she is also part of two other upcoming films — Roid, directed by Hawa filmmaker Mejbaur Rahman Sumon, and Shokhi Rongomala by N Rashed Chowdhury. Andhar now joins that list.
Although the casting of Siam and Tushi has not been officially confirmed, both actors have not denied their involvement. They said they would speak about the project only after the production company makes a formal announcement, which is expected soon via a press conference.
Produced under the banner of 221B, Andhar is based on a story co-written by Saidus Salehin Sumon of the band Artcell, Shakib Chowdhury of Cryptic Fate, and Adnan Adib Khan. Shakib Chowdhury, who is also producing the film alongside Adnan and Sarah Ali, said the horror story will be set in a Bangladeshi context. “We don’t want to show a Western-style horror story without emotional depth,” he explained. “This film will combine horror, mystery, thriller, murder, and emotion, with characters audiences can relate to.”
Filming for Andhar is scheduled to begin next month.
