Indian rapper Badshah and Punjabi actress Isha Rikhi have announced their separation. The couple confirmed the decision in a joint statement on Monday night (August 31), putting an end to weeks of speculation about their relationship.
Badshah and Isha got married in an intimate ceremony in March. Following the announcement, both shared similar statements on their respective Instagram Stories.
In his Instagram Story, Badshah wrote, “I and Isha Rikhi have mutually decided to part ways and move forward on our separate paths. This decision has been made with mutual respect, and we request everyone to kindly respect our privacy during this time.
“This will be our only statement on the matter. We sincerely request that there be no further speculation or assumptions regarding our relationship.”
Speculation about trouble in Badshah and Isha’s relationship began circulating on social media in July. That month, Isha shared a montage featuring several photos and videos of herself and Badshah.
In the caption, she wrote, “Every storm is a lesson. Every prayer is a hope,” accompanied by broken-heart and prayer emojis. The post led many social media users to speculate that there might be trouble in their relationship.
More recently, Isha’s mother, Poonam Rikhi, also shared several posts about “karma,” which sparked further discussion on social media.
Earlier in June, Isha had confirmed her marriage to Badshah during an “Ask Me Anything” session on Instagram.
The separation announcement comes amid reports that Isha Rikhi could be one of the contestants on the upcoming season of Bigg Boss 20, hosted by Salman Khan.
Badshah was previously married to Jasmine Masih. The couple divorced in 2020 and have a daughter together.
