The Flood Forecasting and Warning Center (FFWC) has issued a stern warning, anticipating flash floods in the northern and northeastern parts of the country. As water levels surge menacingly in the rivers of northeastern districts, including Netrokona, Sunamganj, Kishoreganj, and Moulvibazar, the threat looms large.

Led by the Water Development Board (BWDB) and the Directorate of Disaster Management, FFWC is vigilantly monitoring the situation. Urgent recommendations have been put forth, urging local residents to brace themselves against the impending peril.

In the next 48 hours, the pre-monsoon water flow is expected to surpass critical levels in the northeastern border districts like Sylhet, Moulvibazar, Sunamganj, and Habiganj. Consequently, residents are advised to take immediate precautions and prepare for possible evacuation.

To stay informed about real-time updates and flood forecasts, residents of vulnerable areas can utilize the BWDB Flood App and FFWC website. For urgent assistance, a toll-free hotline at 1090 or 01841-002299 is available.
