The government will never repeal the Digital Security Act (DSA), according to Law Minister Anisul Huq, but it will be changed to a publicly acceptable version by September of this year.
Additionally, he stated that the amendment will contain a clause protecting journalists.
He came up with this remark on a panel discussion for World Press Freedom Day at the Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) Auditorium in Dhaka. The panel's theme was "Shaping a Future of Rights".
"The DSA was established to lessen cybercrime nationwide. However, the DSA has been abused and misused in the past. However, we have recently reduced it," the minister said.
TIB Executive Director Dr. Iftekharuzzaman stated the DSA amendment won't be acceptable if it isn't repealed while speaking there.
