In a solemn tribute to the martyrs of the July uprising, the leaders of the National Citizens‍‍` Party (NCP) have renewed their call for justice.

During a visit to the Rayerbazar killing grounds in Dhaka on Tuesday, NCP Convener Nahid Islam stressed the importance of bringing those responsible for the repression and violence to trial as quickly as possible.

"Justice must be served, and through this, we can ease some of the pain endured by those who sacrificed their lives and suffered during the uprising," he stated.

"Let this justice be a symbol, so that fascism never rises again," he added.

Earlier that morning, at around 8:30 AM, the NCP leaders also paid their respects at the National Martyrs‍‍` Memorial in Savar before making their way to Rayerbazar.

Addressing the issue of the upcoming elections, Nahid Islam proposed that holding a Constituent Assembly election alongside the national election could pave the way for a new constitution and a genuine democratic process.

He said that the combined elections could lead to the creation of a new framework for a transformed Bangladesh.

Sargis Alam, NCP’s Chief Organizer for the Northern Region, took a hard stance on the matter, saying, "Until we see the hanging of killer Hasina, no one should even mistakenly mention elections." He continued, "No one knows where killer Hasina has hidden the bodies. Mothers are desperately searching for their loved ones. How can we think about anything else in this country until the murderers are brought to justice?"

Hasnat Abdullah, the party‍‍`s Chief Organizer for the Southern Region, highlighted that the government was established on the blood of students and civilians.

He warned that the entire process could be called into question if justice is not swiftly delivered.

Abdullah urged for an increase in the number of special tribunals, if necessary, to expedite the trials.

"Justice delayed will put the legitimacy of the whole process at risk," he said.

Other key NCP figures, including Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain, Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary, and Senior Joint Chief Coordinator Abdul Hannan Masud, were also present at the Rayerbazar memorial to honor the martyrs.

The NCP leaders remain committed to their demand for justice, standing firm in their efforts to ensure that the atrocities of the past are addressed through swift and fair legal processes.
