Pregnant woman raped in Keraniganj: Police arrest two suspects

In a shocking incident in South Keraniganj, Dhaka, a 20-year-old woman, who is four months pregnant, has accused several men of raping her. 

The horrifying event took place in the Pangao Rishipara area. Initial reports suggest that three or four individuals were involved in the assault.

The victim was brought to Dhaka Medical College Hospital by a female constable from South Keraniganj Police Station for a health check-up. 

During the examination, it was confirmed that the woman is indeed four months pregnant.

The police have filed a case under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act, and as part of their investigation, two suspects have already been arrested. 

The arrested men are Ashraful Islam Siam, 20, and Jit Sarkar, 19. This was confirmed by Inspector Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain Mia, who is in charge of the Jajira Police Outpost.

The two accused individuals allegedly lured the woman to an abandoned house in Noyabari, Pangao Rishipara, by offering her food and shelter.

According to reports, between 10:30 PM and 1:30 AM on Saturday night, the woman was raped by three to four individuals. She was later rescued by local residents, who quickly contacted the police.

The incident was confirmed by Inspector Mohammad Faruk, in-charge of the police camp at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. 

He stated that the victim was brought to the hospital‍‍`s emergency department on Sunday around 11 AM by South Keraniganj police, where she was admitted for further medical treatment.

This tragic event has shaken the community, and authorities are continuing to investigate the matter. 

The arrested suspects are expected to be brought before the court soon.
