Home Advisor, Lt. Gen. (retd.) Jahangir Alam, has stated that although corruption has decreased significantly over the past six months under the interim government, it is still not at a level that can be considered manageable.

He emphasized that tackling corruption will pave the way for solving all the country‍‍`s problems.

While speaking to the media after attending the 30th anniversary event of the Bangladesh Coast Guard in Agargaon, Dhaka, on Monday (February 17), Jahangir Alam said,

“If corruption is reduced, we can make progress in all sectors. That will allow us to address every issue.”

The Advisor also mentioned that the law enforcement authorities will take strong action against those who incite violence under the guise of mob actions.

“It’s important to understand the reasons behind the formation of a mob,” he added. “When corruption is reduced, we will be able to see improvements in every area.”

In his remarks, Jahangir Alam further pointed out, “For the first time in 53 years, the interim government has managed to bring the police under the law in such a manner.”

He also noted that media outlets like Channel24, which report on corruption, are being swiftly addressed and appropriate measures are being taken.
