The school bell rings again after a long shutdown due to coronavirus pandemic. Premises are abuzz with enchanting students as the educational Institutions reopen after 544 days on Sunday (September 12).
Students of school, college and madrasa return to their respective institutions.
In-person classes were closed at all educational institutions on March 17 last year since the onset of the pandemic.
However, various schools at 14 flood-hit districts along with some English medium schools were not reopened on Sunday.
Though, school premises reopen, classes are yet to resume for all grades. SSC, HSC applicants and students of ninth grade will join classes six days a week. The remaining graders will take part in class one day every week.
Educational institutions take preparations centering the reopening after a long break. Students were greeted with chocolates and flowers.
Academicians say, fulfilling the deficit and maintaining safety guidelines would be a great challenge.
“Compliance of health protocols has to be ensured at all educational institutions from remote areas to the cities. Government has to provide masks with free of cost. A comprehensive plan is also required to meet the deficiency created due to the pandemic,” Professor Syed Manjurul Islam told the media.
