During the 30th anniversary celebrations of the Coast Guard on Monday in Agargaon, Dhaka, Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury expressed that action is being taken against those who create mobs.

Speaking at the event, he made it clear that anyone involved in chaos under the guise of mob activity will face strict consequences.

He pointed out that police verification, which had been causing trouble for the public, has now been lifted.

However, he cautioned that care must be taken to ensure that Rohingyas do not take advantage of this change.

On the subject of corruption, Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury mentioned that corruption has been reduced significantly in the last six months, but still has not reached an acceptable level.

He stressed that corruption exists across all sectors in the country and that further reductions would lead to faster national progress.

He also commended the Coast Guard for their continued efforts in building public trust, carrying out their duties, and playing an important role in the security and disaster management of coastal areas.

In recognition of their courageous and dedicated work, 40 members of the Coast Guard were honored with medals in four different categories at the ceremony.
