“Russia-Bangladesh ties based on solid foundation of friendship”

Sergey Lavrov, the Foreign Minister (FM) of Russia, congratulated Dr. Hasan Mahmud, the foreign minister of Bangladesh, on his appointment.

"The strong foundation of friendship laid during the East Bengal people‍‍`s independence struggle is the basis of the Russia-Bangladesh relations," he stated in a statement.

In order to further deepen bilateral cooperation in political, trade, economic, and other useful areas, the Russian Foreign Minister stated that they look forward to the two nations‍‍` foreign offices continuing their fruitful contact.

The foreign minister of Russia wished Dr. Mahmud good health and success in his important role.
