Kamala Harris faces challenges in recruiting volunteers as election day approaches

As Election Day gets closer, Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party‍‍`s presidential candidate, is having a tough time finding male volunteers from labor unions to help with her campaign.

These volunteers are important because they encourage people to vote by visiting homes and making phone calls.

Recent polls show that the race for the presidency is very close, making every single vote count.

Labor unions in the United States have a long history of supporting Democratic candidates.

Both Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden have worked hard to earn the support of union leaders and have stood up for workers‍‍` rights.

However, Republican candidate Donald Trump has been making inroads into these labor unions.

If even a small number of Democrats lose support in the unions, it could make a big difference in Kamala‍‍`s chances to win this election.

If Kamala wins, she would make history as the first woman and the second Black president of the United States.

However, she faces significant challenges related to gender and race. Many people still hold biases against women in leadership roles.

Liz Shuler, the president of the AFL-CIO, which represents about 12.5 million workers, said that overall support for Kamala is strong, but gender bias might affect her support in some unions.

She mentioned, “Honestly, many people view women candidates differently. Their acceptance tends to be lower; she doesn’t fit the typical presidential mold. No one questions Donald Trump in the same way.”

Finding male voters at home has become increasingly difficult for Kamala‍‍`s campaign.

To address this, the AFL-CIO is now going to workplaces instead, where there are better opportunities for meaningful conversations about workers‍‍` concerns.

This problem is particularly prominent among construction workers, such as electricians and plumbers, where the majority of members are white males.

In larger service unions, the membership is more diverse, but there are still growing issues of gender inequality.

Support for Kamala is decreasing among male members, while female members are showing more enthusiasm for her campaign. This trend could be crucial in the upcoming election.

A recent Reuters poll indicates that support for Kamala among women is on the rise, especially among white women.

On the flip side, male support for Trump has increased compared to the last election in 2020.

James Marvelous, head of the Delaware AFL-CIO, pointed out that Kamala‍‍`s neutral stance on various social issues has caused some male members to lose support for her.

He also expressed concern that some voters might decide not to vote on Election Day.

With just days left until the election, both candidates are working hard to win over voters.

Kamala and her team are focusing on getting the support they need to turn out voters and make history in this important election.
