Faruk-e-Azam, an advisor to the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, has announced that steps will be taken to identify and bring fake freedom fighters under legal action.

He made the statement during a press interaction on Monday, following a session at the District Commissioner Conference, where representatives from the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs and the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief gathered.

According to Faruk-e-Azam, district commissioners have raised concerns over the presence of fake freedom fighters in different areas.

They have asked for clear guidelines to quickly identify and hold these individuals accountable.

He also confirmed that the ordinance of the National Freedom Fighters Council (JAMUKA) is being amended, and after the changes, fake freedom fighters will be officially recognized and dealt with legally.

He further explained that efforts are being made to closely monitor the allocation of funds for TR and KABIKHA.

The aim is to ensure that rehabilitation programs are carried out properly, following government regulations.

From now on, Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) will be purchasing essential materials such as tin sheets locally, in line with the rules set by the government.

Faruk-e-Azam also mentioned a positive shift in the mindset of government officials following the July Uprising.

He believes that this will ensure greater transparency in the future. He further revealed that the July Department will be formed by the end of this month, with the aim of recognizing the sacrifices made during the July Uprising.

Those who lost their lives in the event will be honored as "July Martyrs," and those who were injured will be recognized as "July Warriors."

The advisor also shared that those injured during the uprising will be given priority when it comes to government, semi-government, and private sector jobs, depending on their qualifications.

He expressed his belief that future governments will continue to uphold the spirit of the July Uprising.

As a result, he is confident that the activities of the July Department will continue in the future.

A categorization of the injured individuals is being prepared, and there are no plans to alter it for the time being.

Once the Health Ministry provides the necessary information, the government will publish a gazette.
