Law Adviser Dr Asif Nazrul has stated that the proceedings of the International Crimes Tribunal will not be broadcast live but can be aired after being recorded.
However, the dignity, privacy, and rights of the parties involved in the trial will be considered when broadcasting the recorded material.
He made this announcement during a briefing at the Foreign Service Academy on Wednesday evening.
Earlier in the day, the 13th meeting of the Advisory Council, held at the Secretariat, gave both preliminary and final approval to the draft of the "International Crimes (Tribunal) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2024."
The new law allows the tribunal to broadcast the proceedings with audio-visual recordings if they deem it necessary, though this is not mandatory. They can broadcast only the parts they feel should be made public.
