In a tragic incident that has shaken the village of Bathania in Feni, a young man named Noor Mohammad, aged 18, was allegedly beaten to death by the family of a bank officer, Moin Uddin. The victim`s mother, Bibi Khatija, was also reportedly tied to a tree and assaulted. The accused, Moin Uddin, has been apprehended by the authorities.
According to reports, the incident unfolded when Noor Mohammad visited the home of Moin Uddin in Bathania village. Allegations of theft were raised against him, leading to a violent confrontation. Noor Mohammad`s father hails from Andar Char village of Sudharam police station in Noakhali.
Confirming the details, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Hasan Imam of Chhagalnaiya Police Station stated, "Bank officer Moin Uddin has been arrested in this incident. He admitted to the beating. The case is under investigation, and the body will undergo a post-mortem examination at Feni Sadar Hospital."
Bibi Khatija recounted the harrowing ordeal, stating, "My son`s monthly salary was fixed at Tk. 2 thousand. The family never gave him a holiday in 4 years. That anger remained, on the 27th of Ramadan, my son went to his home in Noakhali with an envelope filled with 80 thousand taka."
She continued, "If my son had committed any wrongdoing, he would have been handed over to the police. I begged them for my son`s life. However, their minds did not melt. By torturing me like this, they beat my son for the whole night. I want justice for this murder."
The police are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter, emphasizing the need for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of Noor Mohammad`s death. Meanwhile, the community mourns the loss of a young life amidst allegations of brutality and injustice.
