Awami League-led 14-party alliance will participate in upcoming national election together under the boat symbol (AL’s symbol).
Several party ally including Hasanul Haque Inu, President of the Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal confirmed the development to media.
He came up with this at the office of Awami League organizing secretary and member of parliament Mirza Azam on Sunday night at the `A` block of parliament after holding a meeting of the 14-party alliance partners of Awami League on seats distribution in the elections.
Stating that there was no decision on the final seat distribution in the meeting, Inu said that a decision will be made on the seat sharing within a day or two.
He further said that after the division of seats, the candidates of each party outside those seats will be able to compete independently with their party symbols.
Workers Party President Rashed Khan Menon said, “Which seat will be given to whom has not been decided. Long list has been shortened. Winning possibility of a candidate will be given priority.”
Stating that the election will be acceptable to the outside world, Menon said, four rounds of meetings have been held on the list of coordination. The alliance will be continued in future.
Syed Nazibul Bashar Maizvandary, who founded another ally of 14-party alliance - Bangladesh Tarikat Federation, hopped that a coordinated decision after proper negotiation will be announced regarding the candidates by December 15.
