A group of 70 ISKCON devotees, who were trying to travel to India, were turned back by Benapole Immigration over concerns about their journey.
According to a report from Jugantor, the devotees had come from various districts across the country, arriving at Benapole on Saturday evening and Sunday morning, hoping to cross into India.
They waited throughout Saturday and until midday on Sunday, but the immigration authorities did not allow them to proceed to India.
ISKCON member Sourav Tapandar Chheli explained, "We came to travel to India for a religious event, but immigration officials sent us back, saying we did not have permission to enter India."
Another devotee, who had also come to Benapole with the group, mentioned that they were planning to go to India to take part in religious rituals but were stopped by immigration without being given any clear reason.
The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the Benapole Immigration Checkpost, Imtiaz Ahmed, said the group was not allowed to travel because their trip appeared suspicious.
