Hasan Mahmud, Bangladesh`s foreign minister, announced today that the country will purchase ten Airbus aircraft from the European manufacturer when its economy allows.
Following separate talks at the foreign ministry with German Ambassador Achim Troster and French Ambassador Marie Masdupuy, he made the remark.
When asked if the decision to acquire the planes was final, he replied that the relevant ministry, not the foreign ministry, makes the final decision on the purchase.
Hasan Mahmud added that he spoke with France about purchasing the Second Bangabandhu Satellite.
During French President Macron`s visit last year, a memorandum of understanding was reached for the purchase of satellites, and the final agreement will shortly be completed.
