Protesters in Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) have started a demonstration demanding the resignation of Vice-Chancellor (VC) Farid Uddin.
Hundreds of students gathered inside the university and brought out a procession on Monday morning to put forth their latest demand following Sunday's clash with police.
They said, they won’t leave the hall. Starting from the dormitories, the procession encompassed various lanes and by-lanes of the university premises chanting slogan. Gradually general students joined the procession.
Authorities said, the university has been declared closed for an indefinite period. Students are asked to leave the dormitories within 12pm Monday.
VC Fardi Uddin came up with the closure announcement following emergency syndicate meeting Sunday night.
