Students from the seven government colleges affiliated with Dhaka University gathered today at the Dhaka College premises, where they held a press conference.
This gathering was observed around 12 PM on Monday.
Dhaka College, one of the seven affiliated institutions, became the center of attention after students announced late Sunday night that they would block the roads in front of their respective colleges starting at 9 AM on Monday.
The call for road blockades came after ongoing grievances from the students.
However, by midday, no road blockades were seen in front of Dhaka College, although a noticeable number of students had gathered within the college premises instead.
Around 12 PM, these students began their press conference in front of the Shaheed Minar inside the college grounds.
Traffic on the road in front of Dhaka College was still moving, but the number of vehicles was lower than usual for that time of day.
Meanwhile, police were on alert in the Nilkhet area, ready to respond if the planned road blockades took place.
