Bangladeshi shot dead ‘by BSF’ in Thakurgaon

A Bangladeshi man was shot dead allegedly by members of India‍‍`s Border Security Force (BSF) along the Ratnai border in Thakurgaon‍‍`s Baliadangi upazila today.

The deceased was identified as Nuruzzaman, 40, in Baliadangi upazila.

Commanding officer of BGB-50 Lieutenant Colonel Tanjir Ahmed said the BSF troops of Sonamati camp opened fire on a group of Bangladeshi people, numbering 10-12, in the border area, leaving Nuruzzaman dead.

Later, they took the body to their camp while the others managed to flee the scene, the BGB official said.

A flag meeting between BSF and BGB will be held in the afternoon protesting the killing, said Tanjir.
