Approximately six lakh people are stranded in Lakshmipur district due to continuous rains and tidal surges from the Meghna River.
The upazila administrations are working with locals to remove illegal canal dams to address waterlogging and are distributing dry food to those affected.
Lakshmipur Deputy Commissioner Suraia Jahan confirmed the situation around 11:30 AM on Thursday, August 22.
Flooding has impacted Lakshmipur Sadar, Ramgati, Kamalnagar, Raipur, and Ramganj.
DC Jahan stated that the distribution of dry food began on August 21, and 189 cyclone shelters are available for use.
