The first cat exhibition in the country was held at Barishal on Friday afternoon. The extraordinary exhibition was held at the city's Convention Hall on Friday. Hundreds of cat lovers from all over the city flocked at the exhibition to see the array of cats who took part in various competitions there.
Total 40 cats took part in the exhibition, including three cats named Shakib Khan, Apu Biswas and Shobnom Bubly.
Abir Bin Mizan, coordinator of Persian Cat Society of Barishal, organizer of the fair, said, "My wife and I started the first group for our love of animals and tried to bring together cat lovers and got a huge response within a short time."
"Later, with everyone's enthusiasm, we organized the first cat show in Barishal on Friday. The cats participated in various competitions there," added Abir.
Animal Resources Officer Dr Nurul Alam was present as the chief guest at the exhibition.
Visitors at the exhibition felt that such fair will increase kindness and compassion among people. Also, there will be an increase in awareness for animal welfare said many of the visitors who also expressed that such fairs should be held occasionally.
