Even after completing the one-year tenure of Bangladesh Chhatra League`s Dhaka University (DU) unit, the newly expired committee has failed to name the full-fledged executive body.
Post-seekers are blaming the top-brass for failing to form the 121-member committee.
Different DU hall unit leaders and activists claimed this situation as undesirable and complained about current Chhata League high-command that they were intentionally lengthen the process.
According to the section 10 (A) of the Bangladesh Chhatra League`s constitution, the DU unit committe which is equivalent to a district level body, will be consisted of 151 members.
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader announced the committee with Mazharul Kabir Shayan as President and Tanbir Hasan Shaikat as general secretary On December 20, last year.
However, in special circumstances, the DU committee tenure can be extended more 90 days with the permission of the central executive committee of ruling party`s student organization.
A leader of Masterda Surja Sen Hall, wishing not to be named, said that the president-general secretary could have announced the full-fledged committee if they wanted. But he heard that draft list had been prepared.
He also said that the committee may formed after the election.
"If the top leaders wanted, they could have announced the full-fledged committee within a year. But we don`t know why they yet to form it. However, they should have announced the committee before the election," another contender told this media.
On December 20, the committee completes its one year period without even announcing a complete committee. Where many candidates are finishing with their studentship.
In response to a question of TheReport.live, DU unit General Secretary of Chhatra League said that there were strategic reasons behind not completing the committee.
"The committee will be announced based on the performance of the activists on the upcoming national election. After the election, the committee will be given considering the overall issues," he added.
On the contrary, the DU unit President Chhatra League, Mazharul Kabir Shayan told TheReport.live, the committee can be formed any time before or after the election.
