Spain defender Pedro Porro described reaching the FIFA World Cup final as "a dream come true" after helping his side secure a memorable 2-0 victory over France in Tuesday`s semi-final.
Porro, who scored Spain`s second goal, said the team fully deserved its place in the final after producing an impressive all-round performance against the two-time world champions.
"I`m very happy with the attitude the team showed from start to finish," the Tottenham defender said after the match. "We played a great game and did everything we needed to do to reach the final."
The 26-year-old said beating one of the tournament favourites was a collective achievement rather than an individual success.
"We knew France were a very strong team and had been playing excellent football. This belongs to the whole team, not to me," he said.
Porro also praised Spain`s overall display, describing it as a "fantastic match" against one of the world`s strongest sides.
Spain will now face the winner of Wednesday`s semi-final between England and Argentina in Sunday`s World Cup final.
