After Elon Musk announced lifting the 22-month suspension of the account, former US president Donald Trump's Twitter account "reappeared" on the social media platform on Saturday, according to news agency AFP.
On January 6, 2017, Trump's account was suspended due to his instigation of violence at the US Capitol Hill. Trump's account was restored after Twitter CEO Elon Musk conducted a poll, which resulted in a 4% victory for those who wanted the ban lifted.
Over 15 million Twitter users voted in the poll with 51.8% voting in favor of reinstatement.
"The people have spoken. Trump will be reinstated. Vox Populi, Vox Dei," Musk announced.
