At least 15 workers were injured as the roof of an under-construction building of Atomic Energy Research Establishment collapsed in Savar, on the outskirts of Dhaka on Friday afternoon.
The injured workers were sent to different local hospitals for treatment.
Jahirul Islam, senior station officer of Fire Service at Dhaka EPZ, said that the incident took place when the construction work of the 10-storey building was continuing at Ganakbari in Savar around 4:30pm.
Most parts of the ceiling of the 10th floor collapsed, leaving the 15 workers injured, the official said.
"As far as we know, their injuries were not serious," he added.
Debashish Paul, director general of the establishment, said, "The building is being constructed under a project of the medical institute of our establishment."
He added, "I have heard about the incident. I am trying to know the details."
