The government will take steps to remove all the smoking zones at all the airports of the country as part of its goal to build a tobacco-free nation by 2040, State Minister for Civil Aviation M Mahbub Ali on Tuesday told parliament.
In response to a query from Awami League MP Habibe Millat, the minister replied that necessary actions would be taken to make an end of all designated smoking zones at all of the country’s airports.
There are currently separate places for smokers inside international airport terminal buildings in an effort to protect nonsmokers, particularly women and children, from passive smoking.
