Finance minister AHM Mustafa Kamal left Dhaka for Switzerland to join the United Nations LDC.
Bangladesh qualified for the Least Development Country (LDC) graduation.
A notification issued by the finance ministry disclosed the matter on Saturday (August 28).
According to the notification, the meeting will be held in Geneva of Switzerland from August 30 to September 2. The finance minister will uphold various initiatives taken by the Bangladesh government.
The meeting will feature discussion on the LDC status of 12 least developed countries of the Asia-Pacific region. Several international organisations will evaluate the development goals of the those countries.
The UN and Bangladesh government have jointly called a regional review meeting of the Asia-Pacific from January 23-27 as part of the preparation of 5th UN summit of least developed countries at Qatar’s capital Doha.
