A gas cylinder explosion in a private car sparked a fire in the Hatirjheel area of Dhaka today around 1:00 PM. Fortunately, no one was injured or killed in the incident.
According to Rakibul Islam, the duty officer at the Fire Service’s central office, two fire units rushed to the scene shortly after the fire was reported and successfully brought it under control.
It remains unclear how many people were inside the microbus at the time of the explosion.
Mohammad Raju, the Officer-in-Charge of the Hatirjheel Police Station, stated that the fire started due to a mechanical fault in a vehicle on the Mayor Bridge in Hatirjheel.
As a safety measure, traffic on the bridge was temporarily halted. Thankfully, the fire caused no harm to anyone involved.
