The fire in the ceramic warehouse in the 5-storey building next to the Bismillah Tower in Chawkbazar of the capital has been brought under control. 7 units of fire service were able to put out the fire after trying for about one and a half hours.
The fire service received information about the fire on Tuesday (11 April) at around 11:15 am.
Headquarters duty officer, Anisur Rahman confirmed this information and said that the first unit of the fire service arrived at the scene at 10:53 am. Later 6 more units went there.
He also said that the fire started in the warehouse of the ceramic factory on the fourth floor of the five-storied building. There were other goods of plastic and ceramics. It was very risky. The stairs leading up to the building are only one and a half feet wide. So it had to get a lot of speed to put out the fire.
Initially, the fire service official could not give any information about the cause of the fire, damage and casualties.
