PM Hasina will go to jail if BNP returns to power: Abdus Salam

Fear of going to jail was the reason Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina did not hold free and fair election, remarked Abdus Salam, a member of the BNP chairperson's advisory council and convener of the Dhaka Metropolitan South BNP.

He made the comments while exchanging views with journalists on Tuesday afternoon (October 5).

He said, 'Our leader Khaleda Zia has been jailed in a case worth Tk 2 crore. Their (Awami League) leader has corruption worth thousands of crores. If there is a fair election, BNP is bound to return to power.

If BNP retuns, their leader will also go to jail, and they are not letting go of power for this fear only.

Addressing Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Abdus Salam said, "I will tell her there is no need to worry about who will vote for the BNP." Think about who will vote for Awami League '.

The BNP leader further said, 'The Awami League president does not trust the leaders and workers of her party. For this, they had to vote with the police on the night before the 11th parliamentary election of 2018.

He said the people would vote for the BNP if there was a fair election at this time.
