Solaiman Salim, the son of former Dhaka-7 lawmaker Haji Md Salim, has been sent to jail in connection with the tragic death of 16-year-old Rakib Howlader.
The incident took place in Dhaka’s Chawkbazar area on August 5. A Dhaka court made the decision today, with Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Awlad Hossain Muhammad Jonaid issuing the order.
The case was filed on September 23 by Rakib’s father, Jahangir Hossain, at the Chawkbazar Police Station. Solaiman Salim, who had previously served as a member of parliament, was arrested early this morning in the Gulshan area of Dhaka.
He was taken into custody and later sent to jail as part of the investigation into Rakib`s death.
The case has drawn significant attention, as Solaiman is the son of Haji Md Salim, a prominent political figure from the ruling Awami League party.
Rakib’s family has been seeking justice for his death, and the arrest marks a key development in the ongoing investigation.
