A group of doctors has gathered in London to discuss the treatment of former Bangladesh Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson, Khaleda Zia.

The meeting, which started late Friday evening at 11:30 PM Bangladesh time, also included doctors from Johns Hopkins Hospital in the United States, who joined the discussion virtually.

The medical board consists of experts in heart, kidney, arthritis, liver, and diabetes, all working together to ensure Khaleda Zia receives the best care possible.

This team was put together on Friday to oversee her treatment in detail.

Khaleda Zia’s personal doctor, A. Z. M. Zahid Hossain, shared on Thursday that they expect to make a decision about her treatment in the next couple of days.

Dr. Zahid explained that Khaleda Zia has been dealing with a variety of serious health conditions, including liver and kidney problems, heart disease, and other health issues.

Because of this, the necessary medical tests are taking more time than expected. Doctors at the London clinic have also been in regular contact with health professionals in Bangladesh.

The whole situation is being closely monitored by Tarique Rahman, the acting chairman of the BNP.

Meanwhile, Tarique Rahman has asked the public to pray for his mother’s swift recovery.

On January 7, Khaleda Zia arrived in London, brought by a special air ambulance sent by the Emir of Qatar.

She was taken straight from Heathrow Airport to a clinic in London for further treatment.

Professor John Patrick Kennedy is overseeing her medical care there.

At 79, Khaleda Zia has been struggling with several health issues for a long time, including liver cirrhosis, kidney problems, heart disease, diabetes, and arthritis.
