Seven years after the sensational murder of former SP Babul Akter's wife Mahmuda Akter Mitu, the trial of seven accused including her husband has begun with the commencement of testimony. Mitu's father, former police officer Mosharraf Hossain, gave his first statement as a witness in the case.
Chittagong's third Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Jasim Uddin's court started the testimony of that case. Lawyer Golam Mawla Murad is in the hearing on behalf of Babul Akter. On the other hand, Chittagong Metropolitan, PP Md. Abdur Rashid is the prosecutor.
After the court sitting, Babul's lawyers said that they have made an application to the High Court against the framing of charges. For that reason, they want time to start taking testimony after Eid. Prosecutor opposes it.
