The court has deferred pronouncing judgment against 11 accused including former Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha over the case of taka four crore scam from defunct Farmers Bank due to judge’s illness.
The verdict will be delivered on October 21. Acting justice Mohammed Ali Hossain set the new date on Tuesday (October 5).
Judge Sheikh Nazmul Alam of Dhaka special court-4 was supposed to deliver the verdict today. But, he fell sick abruptly and could not join the court proceedings.
Confirming the matter Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) prosecutor Mir Ahmed Ali Salam said, “The verdict will not be delivered today as the judge fell sick.”
Earlier on September 14, the court fixed October 5 to pass the judgment after hearing arguments of both sides.
