Bangladesh Reviewing Tariffs on US Imports: Shafiqul Alam

Bangladesh is currently assessing its tariff structure on imports from the United States, according to Chief Adviser‍‍`s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam.

In a Facebook post this morning, Alam stated that the National Board of Revenue is actively exploring options to rationalize tariffs in a timely manner. "This step is essential to addressing the issue effectively," he noted.

Highlighting the strong bilateral ties, Alam emphasized that the US is Bangladesh’s largest export market and a key partner. He also mentioned that the interim government has been collaborating with the US since the Trump administration to enhance trade and investment relations.

"Our ongoing engagement with the US government is expected to contribute to resolving the tariff matter," he added.
