A shipment of 10,850 tons of parboiled rice from India has arrived at Chattogram Port today.
The rice, transported aboard the MV HT Unit ship, is part of the International Open Tender Agreement (Package-8), which involves the import of a total of 500,000 tons of rice from India.
This latest delivery brings the total rice imported to 366,769 tons, with 450,000 tons scheduled to arrive in nine consignments.
Sample testing of the rice has been completed, and unloading operations are set to begin shortly.
Necessary measures have been put in place for the smooth processing of the shipment, according to a statement from the Ministry of Food.
