A group of students from Notre Dame College announced to take to the streets in protest against the cancellation of the remaining Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent exams.
In a statement released on Tuesday night, the students announced a sit-in protest scheduled for 2 p.m. on Wednesday in front of the college gate. They are demanding the reversal of the decision to cancel the remaining HSC exams.
The students argue that the decision was made unilaterally without consulting all relevant parties.
Their statement outlines three key demands aimed at addressing the issues surrounding the HSC exams.
However, another faction of Notre Dame College students demanded this statement doesn’t reflect the opinion of the mass students. The faction welcomed the cancellation of the exams referring to the ongoing flood situation and political crisis.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Inter Board Coordination Commission (IBCC) decided to cancel all remaining HSC and equivalent exams in response to a wave of student protests.
