The government is actively considering turning Dhaka‍‍`s seven colleges into a university, with Titumir College being a key part of the discussion, according to a statement from the Ministry of Education on Saturday.

However, despite this development, students from Titumir College have once again taken to the streets, blocking roads as part of their ongoing demand to have their institution officially declared a university.

At around 4:30 PM, a group of students gathered at Mohakhali, blocking the busy road and causing significant disruptions for those traveling between Mohakhali and Gulshan.

Commuters faced severe delays and frustration as traffic came to a standstill.

For several days, students from Titumir College have been protesting, demanding that their college be given the status of an independent university.

Their demonstrations, including road blockades, have been causing major inconvenience to the public.

In response to the protests, the Ministry of Education issued a statement addressing the situation.

The statement assured the students that the government is aware of their demands and is considering them seriously.

It explained that a committee, led by the Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC), is working on creating a separate university that would include Dhaka‍‍`s seven colleges, including Titumir College.

The statement also mentioned that the committee has already begun talks with student representatives from all seven colleges to understand their issues.

The government‍‍`s main priority right now, according to the Ministry, is to improve the quality and resources available at these colleges.

The Ministry added that all options are being considered to achieve this goal, and asked students not to rush with demands for a university announcement, as the process is ongoing.

In its concluding remarks, the Ministry urged the students to remain patient and avoid actions that disrupt public life or interfere with the regular activities of their peers.

The government reassured students and teachers that it is fully committed to addressing their valid concerns in a timely and thoughtful manner.
