Field-level police officers were given directives to intensify their drives to recover missing mobile phone sets across the country.
Besides, it also directed to carry out operation in the places where stolen mobile phone sets are being selling.
The directives were given at a virtual meeting on crime review of October 2023 at the police headquarters with Additional IGP (Crime and Operation) Md Atiqul Islam in the chair.
In his speech, the Additional IGP Atiqul Islam directed officers to conduct raids at places where stolen mobiles are sold alongside recovering lost mobile phone sets.
He also directed to strengthen patrols to prevent mobile set hijacking and theft.
The Additional IGP directed the officers to take necessary measures to prevent road accidents and deaths caused by road crashes.
He also emphasized curbing juvenile delinquency.
The overall crime situation of the country in October such as robbery, theft, burglary, theft, murder, death, road accident, women and child abuse, drug and recovery of illegal firearms were reviewed at the meeting.
Commissioners of Metropolitans Police, Range DIGs, and District Superintendents of Police participated in the meeting virtually, while DIG (Operations) Md Anwar Hossain, DIG (Crime Management) Jaydev Kumar Bhadra and officers concerned were present at the meeting.
