Bangladesh women's football team member Ritu Parna Chakma collided with an overhead banner during the team's open-top bus parade and got three stitches to her head.
The incident happened soon after the champions returned home and joined the hero's welcome on Wednesday.
She had the accident when her head came into contact with an overhead banner in Nikunja in the capital.
Ritu Parna, who scored two goals coming off as substitute during the unbeaten campaign in SAFF Women's Championship, was immediately taken to hospital, according to a Bangladesh Football Federation official.
She needed three stitches on her head at the CMH and is now being taken to the BFF House to join the team in celebration, said the official.
