People across Bangladesh are celebrating Pahela Baishakh, welcoming the Bangla New Year 1433 with a festive and inclusive spirit.

From early morning, people of all ages and backgrounds have joined the celebrations with enthusiasm, turning the day into a vibrant national occasion.

The main attraction, Baishakhi Shobhajatra, is set to begin at 9:00am from the University of Dhaka campus.

The procession will bring together a wide range of participants, including teachers, students, artists, poets and residents of the capital.

Adding to the tradition, Chhayanaut is holding its signature “Borsho Boron Onusthan” at Ramna Batamul, welcoming the new year with music and cultural performances. Founded in 1961, the organisation has been arranging this iconic celebration every year since 1967, earning recognition both at home and abroad.

Pahela Baishakh is one of the country’s most important cultural festivals, known for promoting unity, heritage and a shared sense of identity among people.
