Three more children died with measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours, while 1,216 new measles cases were detected during the same period.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the figures in its latest measles update on Monday.
According to the report, two people died with measles-like symptoms in Dhaka Division over the past 24 hours. During the same period, 1,216 patients with measles-like symptoms were admitted to hospitals across the country.
Since March 15, a total of 100 people have died from confirmed measles infections, while another 897 have died with measles-like symptoms. The combined death toll from measles and measles-like symptoms now stands at 997.
Since March 15, the number of suspected measles cases in the country has reached 165,304. Of these, 19,756 have been confirmed as measles cases.
According to DGHS data, a total of 145,270 patients with measles-like symptoms have been admitted to hospitals across the country so far this year. Of them, 139,831 have received treatment and been discharged from hospital.
