Youth and Sports Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan expressed his frustration over the recent violent clashes between students of Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Molla College and those from Kabi Nazrul and Suhrawardy Colleges.

Despite numerous efforts and calls to resolve the issue peacefully, the students could not be stopped from engaging in violent confrontations, he stated in a social media post on Monday, November 25.

He explained, "Despite all efforts and calls to sit down and find a solution, students could not be prevented from getting involved in clashes. Seeing the aggression and preparation, the law enforcement agencies did not take strict action. Any intervention from them would have led to conflict and bloodshed between the law enforcement officers and students."

In his message, the advisor urged all parties to remain patient, expressing disappointment over the violence, especially during a time when everyone should be focused on building the nation together.

"It is unfortunate that in the time of building the nation together, some are getting involved in such condemnable acts of violence," he added.

Asif Mahmud assured the public that legal actions would be taken against those responsible for the clashes.

Meanwhile, Sarjis Alam, a coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, also took to social media to speak out about the incident.

He said, "If someone tries to create chaos or disorder for unreasonable reasons, regardless of their identity, it is unacceptable."
